Who we are
AMA Torres del Paine
Agrupación Medio Ambiental Torres del Paine (AMA Torres del Paine) was created in November 2004 as a not-for-profit organization with the objective to protect the wild spaces of Torres del Paine.
Vision
To develop, research and create an environmental culture in Torres del Paine.
Mission
It is the mission of our organization to represent the environmental interests of the people and organizations that live and work in Torres del Paine alongside the efforts of recouperation, training and conservation, working to an environmental safety and quality using the contributions of volunteers and organizations.
Functions
- To support and finance scientific investigations that contribute to the knowledge and care of the areas that are impacted by man
- Educate, recommend, asses and direct as much to visitors as to the local community about the benefits of caring for the environment
- Promote the conservation of the natural state inside Torres del Paine.
History
In the month of November 2004 the Agrupacion Medioambiental Torres del Paine (AMA Torres del Paine) was formed, with the objective of supporting and financing the investigation for the development of programs orientated to the care andpreservation of the environment.
This organization was born from the idea of the appropriate persons of the local community who perceived the fragility of the environment, based on the well-being of the local economy.
