Volunteer project: Work on paths

Volunteers involved in this project will have a unique experience to help the environment in Patagonia, Chile and to learn Spanish with everyday contact with local people.Volunteers will live in the mountains, working 7, 5 daily hours for 12 days, with 3 days free. In your free days you’ll have lots of opportunities to visit Base Las Torres, Los Cuernos and Valle Francés.

Specific work: Teams with one leader will work to construct, repair and maintain trails using tools like shovels, wheelbarrows, picks, etc…There will be a lot of mud and stones, and you could be working in all weathers, including rain or snow...

Starting in September and continuing until the end of April

Duration: 1 or 2 periods of 12 days of work and 3 days free.

Number of people: 4 per period

Accommodation and food will be offered in the refugios and campsites of Fantastico Sur in Torres del Paine during the period of volunteering, during both work periods and free days

Requirements
To have a physical state suitable for the demands of this type of volunteering
To speak a basic Spanish

Necessary Equipment
Clothes for rain, clothes for cold weather, boots, wash kit, sleeping bag, first aid kit. If you are participating in the program between November and February, you will also need a tent.
