About us

In November of 2004, the Agrupacion Medio Ambiental (AMA) Torres del Paine was formed with the objective to support and finance the investigation for the development of programs oriented to the environmental care and preservation.

Mission:

Our mission is to help with the conservation of natural resources and cultures within the area of Torres del Paine, Magallanes, Chile.

Objetives:

The objectives of AMA include supporting conservation, scientific investigation and environmental education. These activities within the Torres del Paine National Park and its´ surrounding areas help minimize negative impacts and diminish the risk of future environment problems, as well as maintain the natural resources and cultures of the area.

 

Location

The base camp of AMA is located on the Estancia Cerro Paine, a private area on the borders of the Torres del Paine National Park and commonly known as the Las Torres Sector

AMA Team:

The AMA organization is conformed of a group of persons, investigators, workers and businesses, who share the vision of contributing to the Torres del Paine Community by means of conservation, investigation, education and development of sustainable tourism. The development of sustainable tourism is an economic pillar in this area and the Magallanes region.

 

As far as the structural function, AMA is a community group which is currently composed of 20 partners, most of which have been a part of the organization since its´ inception.
